Comm error recieving gifts??
 

Has anyone else noticed that when you accept a gift or trade it does not go through? I think one of 3 things must be happening here:

1 - There is a bug.
2 - I play too early in the morning before the caffine has kicked in.
3 - I play too late at night when the beer has kicked in.

It's happened so often to me I'd like to think it is #1 but 2 and 3 are a distinct possibility. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Well, if it's a tech gift/trade, it's possible that your tech level is already higher than what the giver can offer... other than that, I'm not certain what can block gifts/trades.

There must be some sort of bug, because I have witnessed tech trades being accepted, and then completely vanishing. There is no notification that any tech was transfered at all.

I remember that happening. hasn't happened to me in a long time. Thought it was fixed.

I've noticed this seems to happen shortly after the AI has been in charge of your empire. This can be especially exasberating when you've just done a "take over" of an established empire and you are trying to get things straightened out asap.

I've had that happen sporadically in PBW games, even for simple trades of star charts. It seems to be intermittent and difficult to reproduce, which makes it quite hard to debug.
