Max speed only 30?!?
 

I've noticed that a destoryer with a speed of 30 and an escort with a speed of 45 departed the same place at the same time travelled exactly the same distance after a turn! Am I correct that the max practical speed in the game is only 30?!?

That would make sense if the most a ship can move in a single day is one square. This is likely only going to happen to you in a simultaneous game. In turn based you probably won't see this. He probably never considered that people would make mods to allow ships to move that fast. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

If you gave both ships the same movement order by shift-clicking them, they will stay together for the first turn's movement; if you ordered them to a destination more than 30 sectors away, they'll separate on the second move.
