Was it Fate? Or just Luck?
On the most recent turn of one of my PBW games (v1.49 + TDM 2.0), my Log had an Event notice of an outbreak of plague.
The unusual thing is that the plague broke out on a colony that isn't mine. I do have a colony in that system, and am playing a race which is both Lucky and Deeply Religious; my colony has a Fate Shrine on it. Has anybody else seen something like this? Why did I get the event notice? Did Lucky or the Fate Shrine "deflect" the event to another player? Did the other player get the Event notice in his Log, or will he only find out when more people die of plague next turn? (That Last question is theoretical; I've already warned the player that it happened to.) [ August 18, 2002, 21:16: Message edited by: capnq ] |
Re: Was it Fate? Or just Luck?
This happens every time there is a plague, it's jsut that plagues happen so rarely you didn't see it before. I am not sure if it's by design or inadvertant. If you look at the events file it says in there that the message is sent to all planets in the system, it doesn't limit it to same empire.
You can also see the planet is plagued by clicking on it I believe. Geoschmo |

Yes, the default is for all planets in a system to be notified of a plague event. In fact, this is settable in the events.txt file. You can have any event send notification to any of: None, Owner, Sector, System, and All. Just change the "Message To :=" line to the setting you prefer.
