damn those rebels
Had a funny one today...
I'm in the endgame of a pretty long game, just finishing off the Last aliens to win the game... suddenly one of my own colonies rebels and starts their own empire... It was an unimportant colony so I decide to make quick work of it... I create a warp point to it and send a huge army of ships that annihilate it... all this in the same turn it rebelled... Then the turn after I got a small shock, because the new empire was telling me how they couldn't allow me to threaten them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif screenshot But then I noticed the line right beneath it where they were reported destroyed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Perhaps they just didn't notice I had already made a parking lot of their only colony? -- AeoN2 |

Re: damn those rebels
Heh. All I have to do usually is make a surrender demand and the rebels collapse almost immediately. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: damn those rebels
There was a great Rebel planet in one of my Hotseat games.
One of the Norak's planets rebelled, so my brother sent a surrender demand, plus his fleet of 15 Shiny new high tech Baseships to secure the territory. The rebels refused to surrender, and instead, vaporized his entire fleet before they could even fire back http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Later, I attacked that same colony with 250 ships. The survivors of that battle included One (1) Battlemoon (10,000kt), 8 assorted minesweepers and other "don't get hurt" support craft, and 20,000 troops (out of 50,000 originally) who managed to capture the planet after a year of ground combat. |
Re: damn those rebels
surrender....hmmmm.....i had a planet rebel against me (using the TDM mod), and all they say is that their leader will not allow them to surrender to their friends....
