(Hey, it's not like I'm trying to rip you guys off - it's just that I like your ideas so much that I want to copy them and add some of my own to make what I think must be the BEST mod ever because it incorporates what I think are the best ideas! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif )

So what I'm asking is, do you guys actually mind if I "borrow" your ideas? Or would you rather that I stop?

(Ideas I've borrowed so far: QNP, enhanced pop modifiers for very low / very high populations, Heavy Bombardment Missile (renamed Pulson Missile - I like MOO2! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ), Elite sensors / Fire Control Center (I called it a Fire Control Center), Improved & Advanced Ship Bomb and other intel ops. Ideas I'm ABOUT to steal http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif : BuckyTube Gel Plating (renamed Reinforced Bulkheads), BattleMoons (renamed Doom Stars - there's that MOO2 again! Looks like somebody needs a little Beboparebop rhubarb pie! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ), Planetoid Core Mount (I had the audacity to not even rename this one - I can't think of a cooler sounding name for it!))

Please use anything you like from Proportions in your mod. It'd be nice to get a mention in your readme.

A few comments:
- The AIs will probably have some trouble with the Elite Sensors.
- I have a program to generate the multi-thousand modifiers. You don't need to copy it, just give me a function for calculating build rate & SY rate, and I'll make a brand new one just for you.

Feel free to use the other ideas.

When I do add a borrowed idea, I do tend to put a mention of who I borrowed it from in the features list (e.g. "Added QNP like in P&N"), but maybe a special thanks section would be a good idea too as the features list can get kind of cluttered!

Actually, I made my own program for generating the thousands of pop modifiers... did you actually think I typed them all by hand? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

And as for the AI's - I've pretty much given up on the AI for this mod anyway! (Hope no planets ever rebel or they'll be hopeless until they're switched to human control!) I'm probably never going to write one and I haven't been able to find anyone else who will, so I figure it will be a multiplayer-only mod... if I can ever get a Version that works and is balanced enough for actual use! (I'm on Version 3.0.3 already and still the only play it's got is testing in the ship design and combat simulator windows! I tried to start a PBW game a while back but once some bugs were discovered and the files needed to be changed I gave up on that... hmm, anyone want to start a PBEM game not on PBW to try this out?)
