new race AI testing...

1)I'm creating a new AI, and testing it.
I would like my race to use capital missiles. But, even if the race have missile I knowledge, the IA prefers to add 3 cannons on its first frigate design. How can I prevent that ?

2)I'm playing with full IA control (all ministers on) to test my AI files. Is that the best method ?

on another subject :
3) Comparisons and history : must they be erased "by hand" after each game ? these informations seems to be kept from the Last game...

1)Under "frigate" in the AI_designcreation.txt you will find this;

Majority Weapon Family Pick 1 := 35
Majority Weapon Family Pick 2 := 25
Majority Weapon Family Pick 3 := 0
Majority Weapon Family Pick 4 := 0
Majority Weapon Family Pick 5 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 1 := 34
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 2 := 25
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 3 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 4 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 5 := 0

The weapons are placed in order from top to bottom, so you need CSM weapon number first.

2)That is the way I test my AI's. I will also test using both a low tech start (to verify research) and a high tech start (to verify ship designs.)

3)HUH?

Numero 3: Are you talking about the files that are saved with the savegames? If you want to erase them go ahead. They really don't do anything after you delete them.

But I preffer to leave them in. Doesn't seem worth the effort http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">1) And what is CSM weapon number, I couldn't find the links between Weapon Family Pick and weapons name ?

2) Ok, I thought a moment that the ministers were using the generic strategy files...

3) I was taking about the comparisons graphics and historical events in the empires window. the data from my Last finished game are poluting my enterely new game...

In the Old Scenario Archive you can find a text file made by Daynarr which contains all component and weapon family numbers. The link is: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/ubbup...ilynumbers.txt

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That sounds like you used the same name for the new game's saved game as the previous game. Try saving the game under a different name; I think that should clear the problem.

If you don't have Daynarr's reference file to look at, the Weapon Family is one of the entries for each weapon in Components.txt .
