Map Making Errors within Devnull Mod.
I seem to have errors with the mapmaker when called from within Devnull Mod.
Can somebody else try the following and confirm that errors are generated? Call the map maker. (from WITHIN Devnull Mod) choose to make a new map (I chose Gal Edge - no black holes) choose to regenerate map When I do the regeneration, I get an error message and the map maker hangs. I am using the latest Version of Devnull Mod Gold |
Re: Map Making Errors within Devnull Mod.
Hey Taz,
hmm, I can't reproduce this. You are talking about the map editor, right? I am not sure what you mean by 'within in the DNM', either. The way it works for me and doesn't produce errors is: 1) change path.txt to point to Devnullmod 2) use the map editor normally from the SE4 main folder Hope that helps, Rollo |
Re: Map Making Errors within Devnull Mod.
Thanks Geo, that may be it. I'll try your method and see if helps!
Rollo, My method is to open the mapmaker from within the launcher program. I also used large map setting, gal edge- no black holes, WP anywhere, NOT all connected. Initial generation was fine. Re-generation had errors. [ October 15, 2002, 20:06: Message edited by: Taz-in-Space ] |
Re: Map Making Errors within Devnull Mod.
Taz, are you doing a large map? And I can't remember does the current DNM raise the systems limit above 100? There are some problems with quadrants large than 100 being generated by the map editor, regardless of the mod. This is an old bug we've been reporting for a while. That might be it. If that's the problem you can start the game and generate and save some maps from within the quadrant setup screen and then open them in map editor and modify them.
