Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
Are the bonuses for System Robotoid Factory and System Radioactives Collider cumulative? In other words, do I get a 60% system-wide bonus on radioactives production with these two facilities(30% from each one)? Does the same hold true for the other resource specific system facilities (I forget what they're called, the ones for organics and minerals)?
Thanks for your help! |
Re: Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
No. The highest system facility will stack with the highest local sector facility, but that's all.
Value / conditions improvement will stack for multiple local facilities, but not multiple system-wide facilities. You get the highest system-wide plus the stack of all your locals. |
Re: Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
And most local facilities don't stack either. The exception is Climate Control Facilitiy and Value Improvement Plant. These really do work faster if you have mor ethan one on the planet.

SJ and Baron M, thanks for the info on facilities. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
What do you do in a max technology game (with no intel allowed) with those planets that have no resource production Category over 100%? I usually use them for intel or research, but in this case there is no point in that strategy. Should I just stack them with value improvement plants and wait until they are usable for resource extraction? |

Build Monoliths. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
ALWAYS build monoliths, they are much much better IMHO. But they take longer, i usually go for the best producing resource and then slowly convert over to monoliths. Also, you can build a system robotoid and a sector robotoid and, according to this thread, they will stack to give your production fatty boosts on that planet.
Basically, 5, 20 planet systems can support an enourmous fleet if you design it right and keep your costs low, plus it's easy to defend that right? |

To increase the number of facilities Atmospheric converters – Down Side: Cost more and could be slower Capture Populations that breathe that atmosphere Down Side, Usually much Harder and Requires Micro management moving the pop around. Cargo Storage Fill it up with units you will need or Weapons Platforms with Drone launchers, Decoy planets to draw attacks. Rename it to antagonize your opponent. This does not seem to work against the AI. Build up defenses to the max, Withdraw your pop to another planet Let the enemy attack it Build a shipyard then build Space Based Ship Yards and Repair bays and remove pop. Use it to transfer items between allies by dropping the items there and gifting the planet back and forth |
Re: Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
Gryph,
I do wish I knew what names you were using in a certain PBW game. I guess “Attack here you evil, smelly bugger” does come across as a bit obvious. The patch that allows you to see on the screen what system wide facilities are in place has made this sort of thing a lot easier, it was an excellent idea. That said, I wish there were a better way to display what is on moons. Being in the habit of sticking such system wide facilities on empty little moons, I lose track of them. |
Re: Newbie Question: System Facilities Cumulative?
Perhaps that should be changed to show facilities in the sector, not the planet
