Mod pack problem

Hello everyone I am new to this forum and just started playing Space empires IV. I have the gold edition and have tried to use the Mobpack for the gold Version. However, I have unziped it followed the directions and continue to get the same error message. It reads:

Unknown value "ships/sat" for weapon target in record "anti-ship warhead I."

Unknown value "ships/sat" for weapon target in record "anti-ship warhead II."

Unknown value "ships/sat" for weapon target in record "anti-ship warhead III."

I then get only options to exit or credits. I have no idea how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance for any info or help.

The correct target type for an anti ship warhead is "Ships\Sat" Note the direction of the slash. If this is the error (and not just a typo in your post) then go into the components.txt file and change the slash.

Okay I checked the file for components and it was just an error in my post. The slash is as you suggested. The mod file I am using is the Modpack I found on this board for the gold Version of the game. I must say this has all been very frustrating as it is very hard to tell what works with the gold Version and what does not. So far I have got nothing to work. Does anyone have a page or list of mods and races that work with gold Version? I would love to use this modpack.

All races created so far work on gold; you just have to get rid of those annoying pop-ups.

CapnQ has made some steps to get rid of those errors.

Don't know about the mods though.

What is the name of the modpack you're using? There are several modpacks with multiple Versions of each running around on the forum. Knowing exactly what we're dealing with here might help us, and it would let the author know there's a bug in his mod.

Okay I got the mod to work!!! I looked at my Space Empires gold disk file called extra and found the exact mod I downloaded. I tried it and it worked. Now for my next question/problem. The mobpack on the CD did not include all those cool Sifi races from TV like Romulans Klingons Sentari and such. Does anyone know if these race files exist for the gold edition and have a link to them? Thanks everyone for all the help and information, I hope you are all having as much fun with this game as I am.

You really should read the MUST SEE SEIV thread at the top of the forum.

Click the NEW AGE SHIP YARDS link in my signature to get the latest Versions of all the Star Trek Races.

There is new AI out for the Borg, Klingon, and Romulan by God Emperor, but you will have to install new Borg tech if you use the Borg AI. (Recommended)

Hi Lekw,
I would be really interested in what exactly goes wrong as I'm a Co-author of the TDM-Modpack (I think you use this, aren't you?). Did you download the upgrade or the full Version of the TDM-ModPack? What is written on the first page of the install program? It should read Version 3.20 in the 2nd sentence. Please help me to erase any errors in the ModPack so I can fix it once and for all.
The 3.20 Version of the TDM-ModPack includes many of the copyrighted races like the Klingons, the Romulans, the Earth Alliance and so on.

Lekw, without the name of the mod in question, we cannot really help you, though you seem to have gotten the problem fixed. In the future, it would be best to include the name of the mod in your post. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
