cheating with the help of AI

Well, may be I should not post this, but anyway.
I think it is possible to cheat in human vs. human games using some AI loopholes. Namely, design minister can create illegal designs, like two SY on ship, more engines than allowed, etc.
If somebody tweak design_creation file and turn on minister (maybe construction minister too, not sure) for few turns, he can end up with some illegal ships. Of course, "cheater" can be caught very fast after the first few battles.

This would only be a problem if you are playing PBEM against an unscrupulous game owner, since the design files have to be on the pc where the game is being processed. And if your game owner is willing to cheat, there are much easier and more "efficent" ways to do it.

The only way it could happen on PBW is if you were using a mod with these cranked up AI files.

I think it's much more of a problem that you can cheat the AI blind in trades if you know some tricks. And also much more of a problem that the AI is completely mindless about declaring war. If you manage to get your enemy into a conflict with the AI, by use of the 'Communications Mimic' intel project for example, it is almost impossible to get OUT of the war no matter how disadvantageous it is for the AI in real terms.

BTW, there was a hilarious exploit in MOO II that you could pull on the AI if you were telepathic. Once you get to cruisers, steal a colony with 'mind control'. The AI you stole it from will send warships to retake it, of course. But you then GIVE that colony to another AI just before they arrive. The first AI's ships attack the second AI's colony. Instant war between two AIs.

And I thought that after 100000 hours spent playing MOO2 I knew all the tricks.
