compare with the big budgets like CIV3
 

hi

for those that have played CIV3 how would you compare the fun factor of
SE1V?

i just dont get the same one more turn feeling with CIV3
as CIV2....how does space empires compare with either one?

SEIV is infinitely better than Civ 3 (which happens to be a poorly done game). IMO, Civ 2 and SEIV are on the same level.

se4's 'one more turn' syndrome is that much stronger when compared to any other game i had even seen.

stand up and rise your hand if you play SE and never stayed up later than 2am just to play 'one more turn'.

That happened to me a lot more with Civ 2 than SE4. Of course, I have only played maybe 5 single-player games of se4 for more than a few turns. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

What Fyron said. You should do a search for Civ3 here. I tellya what, I strongly disliked that game.

At midnight here, I was polishing some background material for my race in History of the Galaxy II.

SE IV and Civ2 are respectively my favorite and third favorite computer games. (#2 is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire.) Haven't played Civ3 yet.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Why on Earth would I have done that? I play SE4 to play against other people, not the AI, which is rather pitiful when compared to the AI in many other games.
