My teck is switched for Borg Teck
 

I am using several of the Star Trek races (love them), however I play as an Organic race.
I have studied or swapped to get some of the Borg teck.

I design my ships using my Organic III armor and some Borg repair units.

When I goto upgrade my ships my Orgainc III aromor becomes Borg Structure I .

I did some testing and it seems as though if I have any regular teck stuff that has a Borg
Version it will be switched to the Borg Version when I goto upgrade the ship. Even
though the Borg stuff is not as good.
So I get the Borg structure insted of my Organic armor, borg boarding parties for my
boarding parties, and so on.

I don't think this should happen. What can I do to stop it?

You aren't supposed to be using the Borg techs. Only the Borg are.

You can always add obselete components to a ship. Turn off View Latest, and then don't hit the upgrade button. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

@POWERMAN,
Not sure if you are using my Borg (sounds like it) but the AI will consider a similar component with a later Family Group or higher Roman Numeral an an upgrade. Only way to check is to have a look at the Borg files and check out their Roman Numeral Designation.
eg in my latest Borg, I have designated Borg Repair units I as Roman Numeral IV so that standard repair units cannot upgrade over them.

In reply to Fyron: If Capt Janeway can incorporate Borg teck in her ship, so can I.
Besides they Traded it to me.

We still have a trade agreement even though the Borg are battling everyone else.
I don't have any real contact with their systems as they are a little ways off from
my systems.

Janeway doesn't just wholesalely retrofit Voyager with all the Borg tech she finds though. Mostly, they modify the ship based on some borg tech, without directly using much of it. So, you'd need the techs to be capturable, but give you special Versions that aren't quite the same as the Borg Versions (make their's require another tech that is not capturable). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
