Ground Combat Damage Modifier Percent
 
from settings.txt

Ground Combat Damage Modifier Percent := 30

What exactly does this do? Does this mean a Ground Cannon I that does 10 pts of damage really does 3? If so why not just make CG I 3 pts damage.

Inquiring minds want to know!

I'm not sure, but there are lots of weapons that aren't limited to Troops. Maybe weapons on Troops do less damage than the same weapon on a Fighter?

Yes. It also, combined with "Ground Combat Rounds Per Turn", affects how quickly ground battles are over. By using these AND by giving troops many more hitpoints, I was able to make it so ground combats can Last for several turns (in Proportions mod).

Yes, I looked at the proportion's mod settings. You raised the ground combat to 300%, troop hitpoints to the 100 range, and left the # turns at 10? Was this to make CG the same, but troops are more resistant to ship weapons?

And sorry for asking a question that was answered in Modding 101. A very good resource (if only I had found it a while ago!)
