Temporary Warning: Fighters Suck Up Supplies
 

There is a small unknown feature for mixed fleets with fighters and ships, the ship supplies decrease quickly, so avoid mixing fighters with ship fleets !
It has been observed under ver 1.78 and ver 1.84 and it is already reported.
A minor issue if you know about it, I guess.

Or could it be intended after all?
Maybe it is a penalty for the attempt to resupply ships with fighter supply tanks. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Ahh that would explain why my mixed fleet has not regained supplies even though it has returned to the resupply depot.

Fighters do not share supplies with ships in a fleet.

Put (one fighter is enough) a fighter to a ship fleet, do not move them. Next turn: Your ship supplies are 50% (exactly), one turn later they are almost empty.

Sounds like the game is splitting the supply pool of the fleet evenly between the ship and the fighter, even though the fighter can't hold half the pool... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

You know, I just saw this yesterday and thought I was seeing things. The fully resupplied fleet (with fighters) went 5 sectors, had a minor battle with 1 ship and before it returned to the planet it was at the "low supply" warning. I don't normally fleet fighters with ships so I didn't notice this before.

Anyone report this to MM?

Maybe the ships keep having to alter course to avoid fighters, so they use more fuel... er ya... not.
