component families
Now that I've actually had a chance to begin testing my mod, I've noticed a troublesome error. I can't seem to get the armor component families working properly. First I had all of the standard armor types as one family, with Roman numerals going to fifteen. But in the game the 'only latest' kept showing the original armor, not the latest tech. So I changed it so that the Roman numerals started over with each new armor type, even though they were in the same family, but it still does the same thing. Can anybody explain this?

Re: component families
Roman numerals mean nothing for components; they're purely for displau purposes.
The component that is Last in the file will show up. So if you have: Armor I Armor II Armor III Armor IV you will see Armor IV. If you have Armor IV Armor III Armor II Armor I you will see armor I. PHoenix-D |
Re: component families
Make sure of two things: 1) All the components have the same component family number; 2) The Roman numeral increases for each component (the Roman Numeral data line, not the number in the component name). If that doesn't do it, you could post the first 4 or 5 levels here and let us look at it.

Re: component families
Data roman numerals are just for display purpose.
They can go back like with engines or high-energy weapons and not match the comp name like multiplex tracking. |
Re: component families
Aha! Thanks, Phoenix, that was the problem. Now I have a new wish for SEV.
