Possible Bug 1.84

Hi guys... I do not know if i email the game in or what so let me know...

1.84 stock game on pbw... small universe...

A large gas planet rebelled and its population went from 4800 to 9600 ???

I know that in one turn it cannot double its population

and 2 that the max size for a large planet is 4000 ( plus bonuses to a max of 4800 )

I can email the game to anywho wishes to look ( minus the players playing the game ... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thank you in advance

Hi tesco

I personally haven't seen it happen.

But from your description, its seems like a definite bug.

A large planet in a unmodded game shouldn't have a population of 9600. That alone is a bug. And going to 9600 from 4800 only compounds the bug.

Seems like the computer is confusing it's planet sizes when a planet riots.

I'd mail it in to Aaron.

Edit: Hmmmm wonder what happens if you drop troops on it to stop the riotting?

This is an old problem, but I haven't seen it in a while. I thought it got fixed. Used to happen a lot with PPP. Guess it's still around.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Tesco can't drop troops on it to stop the rioting because it rebelled and started its own empire. Dropping troops would be necessary to capture it. If I had a troop transport in the area, I would try the planet...Greybeard

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That's really funny you say that. I've had a game recently that the opposite is happening. I keep ordering my ships to declaoak and when the turn runs they are cloaked again.

I saw that problem once befor. What happens is for one turn your Planet is a neutral. The Neutral's are given bennies to help them against the humans and one is bigger production. To get bigger production on one planet the Population is increased. When you get the planet back you get the excess population as soon as you move them off the population will revert to your Pop limits. Ship the Excess to the stars.
