SE IV 1.78 won\'t load save games or emps
 

I have SE IV 1.78 on my desktop running WinXP Home. NP

Recently bought a new laptop running WinXP Pro. SE IV 1.78 refuses to recognize/load any of the emps, save games copied over from my desktop.

Growl, etc. Anyone have any thoughts? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

You're probably trying to load a savegame or EMP that was created in a different mod than the one you're running at the moment.
If the racialtraits.txt is different, savegames and EMPs will NOT be compatible.

Check your path.txt

Elowan ... it's been a while. Good to see you. OK, a little bit too obvious a tip, but anyway...

Try an uninstall and reload. Wierd stuff happens with installers sometimes. Sometimes when I play P&N, I get a black screen for the system window... when I minimize and resize, the screen is there.

I tried the uninstall-re-install ploy to no avail. I'll just rebuild stuff - NP really.

Hey, Are you sure that's the latest patch you have on there?
We should be in the .80-somethings, not .78

Trying to load the game into an older Version of SE4 could be your problem.
