Requesting advice for returning to SEIV.
 

I have been away from SEIV for a long time and I now want to become absorbed again. I currently have v. 1.60 Gold and I see that we are up to v. 1.84. Is my best route to re-install the game, upgrade with the patch and then install empires and mods? I don't think I have any mods that can't be loaded again plus the ones I have are probably out of date.

Since MOO3 looks like a bust from the Boards (too bad http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif because I loved MOO1 and MOO2), I figure I should conquer the galaxy in SEIV. Any advice is appreciated. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Thanks.

I would say install the patch. Download the mods, and use the mod launcher program to start playing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yeah, most likely the mods you do have are out of date. I'd reinstall, download the patch, then begin searching for the latest of mods to download. And of course more shipsets.

I would suggest getting divorced first.
Playing SEIV can result in a most distracting divorce.

Go to www.malfador.com and then to the SE4 section. Look for the Mods page (listed on the main frame on the right). It has links to most of the mods out there (others are still being gathered).
