Enemy movement (n00b)
n00b question..is it possible to see enemy movement when it is in your explored system?
I am sick and tired of being sneaked up on from the enemy..one minute he attacks my colony, next he disappears without a trace. |
Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
You can use the replay button to do that. There are four of them IIRC..I don't use them much.

Where is this replay button?

Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
They are in the main control panel. If you're playing in 800x600, they're on the same screen as the Toggle Minister and Abandon Planet buttons; if higher, they're next to the Toggle Minister button on the left, and the Move To order on the right.

Ah, I see it
But it ain't highlighted. |
Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
Then you must be playing a sequential-turn game.
The screen should jump to the enemy ship when it moves, you just have to watch closely. Of course, the enemy ship could be cloaking before it takes off again, leaving you with nothing to see at all. |
Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
So in order to see enemy moves, I have to make the game sim-turns, where everyone moves at the same time?

Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
No; in regular turn-based you should be shown the enemies moves as they occur during their turn. (IIRC, been a while since I played that way)
That's if it was an AI, and you're playing alone..I'm not sure if there is a way to do this PBEM. Phoenix-D |
Re: Enemy movement (n00b)
Also, you must have a presence in the system to see movement. Most players use satellites for "listening Posts", just stick on a scanner package (or just a satellite with a computer core, if you have no cloak scanners), and dump them outside your borders.
Also, IIRC, I believe you must have a ship in-system to use the movement log for sequential turns, and use the order on that ship. In simultaneous, the system movement log can be used at any time, without selecting a ship. |

I don't recall there being any movement replay in sequential. |
