1.84 patch corrupt download
 

Everytime I try to install the downloaded 1.84 patch, I get a message saying "Corrupt installation detected" and the install is aborted. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks!!

Download it again. It happens sometimes. Try either shrapnel homepage or MM homepage.

Either your download is duff- in which case redownload, trying both sites as suggested already - or your se4.exe is somehow knackered, in which case you'll have to re-copy the file from your se4 CD.

I can't remember offhand whether you can copy this one file without re-installing the whole game or not, but if it does come to that, re-installing shouldn't lose you any data just as long as all your mods are safely tucked away in their own sub-folders.

Oh, it could also be that you're trying to install the 1.84 patch onto se4 classic (ie not se4 Gold). Check which Version you have. If you have a non-Gold cd then the best patch you can have is up to Version 1.49

I had a strange experience on my sister-in-law's computer. I installed SE4 gold on there a couple of weekends ago, and when I went to play it this past Saturday, there were several files missing. Or at least the computer couldn't find them. I had downloaded the 1.84 patch and it seemed to work fine at the time. I didn't have any problems after I installed the patch. Now, I don't know if she did anything, but does anyone know what could have caused this problem?
