Atmospheric Converters broken?
I just noticed that putting more than 1 converter onto a planet seems not to have any additional effect. More odd is that a planet with a converter I AND a converter II acutally gets his atmosphere LATER than a planet with only a converter II. When I noticed this i did a test, scrapping the converter I and only leaving the II on the planet will immediately convert the atmosphere (maybe because it was long overdue to be converted).
Bug or feature, and can please someone explain this in more detail if feature? |
Re: Atmospheric Converters broken?
You only need one converter facility on a planet.
When you get better tech, upgrade the facility. Its also much cheaper and faster to upgrade. Once the facility has been on the planet for the specified time, the atmosphere gets changed into whatever the majority race breathes. Most abilities in SE4 either add or take the maximum of the available components. Perhaps you were seeing an additive effect on the converter abilities? 30+25 = 55 turns to conVersion. Atmosphere converters are quite a special case, in that more of the ability is not a good thing http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif [ March 30, 2003, 14:29: Message edited by: Suicide Junkie ] |
