...about how to play SEIV with mods. I gleefully downloaded about a bajillion mods, but I have no idea how to get them to work. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

I'm using the SEIV Launcher on the Gold CD, but I still can't pick the races I supposedly added with the Launcher.

Races are not mods, and will not show up in the modlauncher.

Rather, when you start a game of SE4, you should find that there are more race styles to choose from, and when you let the game create random AI opponents, you should see the new races pop up occasionally.

PS:
As for race installation:
The races you installed should be located as the following:
c:\SE4\pictures\races\CoolUberRace\CoolUberRace_Po rtrait_Battlecruiser
for example.
Note the matching "CoolUberRace" folder and filenames? That is important, and typically done automatically if you used winzip's extract feature.
