Ethical Question

Okay, in my current fanfiction i've been writing there are scenes where fighters attack a city and troops invade a planet. These were written around february. With the current war going on is anyone apposed to these scenes being included? As i don't want to offend anyone out there. So if you're going to read this fanfiction please post http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

A fiction is a fiction. Don't try to be "politicaly correct", write what you have in mind. That's my opinion.

Re: Ethical Question

Deadstar, you're writing a work of fiction, IMHO you should not let the 'Real-World' dictate or otherwise censor what happens in your story. If people can't understand the difference between 'Fiction' and 'Real-World' then they need to be re-educated!

Personally I have no difficulty seeing the difference. (Just don't hurt any Smurfs in the writting of your story and I'll be ok!)

another 2 cents (at 50% off) for your reading pleasure!

Cheers!

Edit:..and with this post I have been promoted! (Note, any future 2 cents will be at 25% off due to the higher cost of uniforms!)

Smurfs????

Oh man, that Smurfette must be hot!!! She keeps them all happy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Maybe we should start a poll:
Pick One:

a). Smurfette
b). Wilma Flintstone
c). Betty Rubble
d). Mr. limp wrist

People that are overly politically correct need to be taken out back and shot. Well, maybe not shot, but smacked upside the head instead, cause murder is kinda bad. There is too great a trend to sterilize everything so that no one could possibly be offended nowadays. It is sickening.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, I would go further and say not only is "murder kinda bad", it is bad. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Smacking a person in the head is another form of violence which I disagree with.

How about sterilizing the idiots?

I like the Darwin Awards... (www.darwinawards.com)

Re: Ethical Question

R D, I know the feeling. I had written a chapter a couple of weeks before the Shuttle went down about the Pandoran's loosing their first manned space ship. I help off on posting the story because it would appear in appropriate.

In your case, it is not. The game of SEIV is much the same as it is in real life war. People and place often fall under attack. So I say post it. This is not a ethical violation, it is just good story telling. (Unless the city name that your fighters are attacking is Baghdad.)
