Fighter ramming bug?
I recently tried kamikaze fighters as a anti-fighter strategy and it seems at least in the combat simulator that fighters do not ram other fighters. They move close to the enemy but do not ram. In contrast they ram ships as expected. The fighters had kamikaze heads as only weapons, ram as primary and secondary movement and fighters as top type target.
Is that a known bug? Version 1.84 SEIV Gold. |
Re: Fighter ramming bug?
Try it in real combat. The Simulator sucks, and is prone to error.

If you do tactical you can make them ram. In strategic they won't ram other fighters. They move together and do nothing. Don't know why. Checked the kamikaze settings and tried a few things... seems like the game AI for fighters just won't issue the ram command against other fighters.

Personally, I think it's too bad that anything can ram fighters. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Re: Fighter ramming bug?
Yes PvK I think you can very well argue that it should not be possible to ram fighters at all because they are so fast and agile. But if the kamikaze warhead has fighters as possible target listed but it is not possible in strategic combat to ram fighters, I consider it at least misleading if not a bug.
