space port question
Ok, if you dont have a space port in a system, I take it the minerals dont get added to the avialble pool, but will those minerals be used within that system?
I show a deficit of minerals, but it is minor. Just wondered if I was on the right track. Thanks again. |
Re: space port question
IIRC, no they don't...

Re: space port question
Correct. You need a space port unless you are a natural merchant, or your production (and research and intel) in the port-less system won't contribute to anything.

Re: space port question
Thanks guys,
But the industries inside the system will use that material generated in the system first and not the "global" supply? |
Re: space port question
Nope. IIRC the resources used to build stuff comes from the empire "pool" of resources. So you can still build facilities there while not having a spaceport there but any resources produced there are lost and don't go to the pool of resources.

Re: space port question
This is all correct. I just wanted to pad my post count (and slightly annoy Fyron with that comment). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Space ports are only needed for exporting to the rest of the Empire. You can run around merrily using anything you want from anywhere, but don't you dare think about trying to ship out that 1kt in minerals (and a pretty pitiful 1kt it is--a bit on the short side) without a fully-functional space port in the system. It's like a nightmare cross between government bureaucracy and union rules. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif |
