AST Mod Large Star Trek based Galaxy Map
 

I recently created a Large Standard Paradise Star Trek based Galaxy Map for use with the AST Mod. I based it off of data obtained from the Star Trek Star Charts by Geoffrey Mandel, Start Trek the Worlds of the Federation by Shane Johnson, Star Trek Encyclopedia by Michael Okuda and Denise Okuda and a various web sites about Star Trek stellar cartography.

I am trying to figure out how to make it available so that if anyone is interested they can download it. I looked at the PBW map download site and it said I need to make a .zip file which I have no clue how to do.

For temporary purposes I have sent CNC Raymond a file via e-mail and it seemed to work. If anyone is interested now, I'll email you a copy too.

Any help on creating a downloadable .zip file or any other way to make it accessable will be much appreciated.

If you are running Windows, you can probably just right-click the file, choose "Add to zip...", and follow the on-screen instructions.

One other question, If I were to upload this to the PBW Map site, are there any protocols as far as getting permission from the AST Mod Designers to post this map?

Tnarg, post away. In the read-me of the AST mod it says that people may alter the mod and do as they please to it so long as they are kind enough to sent what they have done to the mod creator so that he can use it himself. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

All right, the Star Trek Map for the AST Mod is posted on the PBW site.

It's a large standard paradise map with home systems (in relative postistions) for all of the Star Trek races that have EMP files for the AST Mod. I did some research on home planet types, star types, special features and ohter goodies. I am shooting for accuracy to a degree in which SEIV allows.

As new races are added I plan on revising the map. Any input or requests, I'll be happy to hear it.
