A question about race images
 

I am in a number of PBW games, and there is this Character http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif that seems to change his/her race/ship set image about ever other turn.

Now I don't want to name names (I don't want him to think I am picking on him), I just get a bit confused of which freaking game I am in, when I see all these different Icons ect...

umm, maybe I shouldn't have pointed out how confused I am getting, I would hate to think of EVERYONE changing their Icons on me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/blush.gif

And finally, how can you change your icon like that?

Hmmm,

Never played PBW but sounds like a good strategy to me (even if highly questionable in my opinion).

Maybe you should try some intel projects to see if they have hired the Iraqi Information Minister!

do you have the right shipset for that character's empire? if you don't the game replaces his shipset with a random one every turn.

Actually, even if you don't have his shipset installed on your computer, you can create a folder in race directory with correct name and dump some ugly pictures there. For example you can make his race look like Alien Queen. Too bad he could not see it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

And that, I should note, is the counter to idiots who do things like making an all-black shipset. Fortunately there aren't many of them.

Phoenix-D, that's brilliant! I don't think it would have occurred to me. Hope I remember it if I ever play anyone with an all-black ship set.

well Hugh Manatee was right, it was a game I took over for someone else, and I didn't check the race files *sigh*
