Atrocities Star Trek Mod (Update v1.9)
The Atrocities Star Trek mod was originally created by William Christopher, A.K.A. Atrocities back in November 2002.
The AST mod uses customized technology and race specific technology combined with 20 Major Star Trek races and 20 Minor Star Trek races specifically developed for this mod. The player can set up a race or play the using one of the pre-existing EMP files. Each of the 20 major races has EMP files available for use. The mod has an HTML document that provides information on both the MOD and the races in the mod. The AST Mod uses custom Star Trek ship sets created by Atrocities. Many of these sets are one of a kind and feature never before seen ships. The V 1.9 patch offers many improvement and enhancements for the AST mod. I just read what happened to Kwok's hard drive. My God that is a horrible loss to the SE: IV community in whole.
I hope that he can recover the data on his hard drive and that the Star Trek mod lives on. Best of luck to you Captain K. |

Hi, I assume you created the mod. I have a few problems with the mod. I thought it might have been some other mods I downloaded, but I installed a fresh copy of gold with th 1.84 patch and still have the same problem.
First problem (I corrected,I think). When loading the mod I got an error when loading point defense weapons. ftr\drone, etc. wasn't valid. I changed it to match the one in the original file. second problem, I cannot correct. It apparently reads the default AI research, and cannot define "CLOAKING". Error message "Unknown value Cloaking for tech area name in record cloaking" Am I the only one getting these problems? |

Also, it seems that there a planet graphic references that don't exist in the default game and are not in the download. Where can I get them?

Regarding the cloaking issue - are you using any none mod races in the mod?

I am sorry, but I have to ask this question.
Did you download the AST mod or just the patch? The full Version of the AST mod is v1.8 at this time, and is about 33 Megs. http://astmod.com on the left hand side menu on the top. The patch is about 2.5 Megs and does not include any AI files. I have play tested the mod and aside from the Point Defense Cannon error, thank you for this bug report, I did not get any other errors. In the mod only the Klingons and Romulans have access to Cloaking technology. In the TechArea.txt there is no Cloaking technology posted and in all of the AI Research.txt documents all references to cloaking technology have been removed. If you have the full mod and are getting this error, then I most definitely am missing something. Again you help is appreciated. CNC |

I am also getting the same error message that EbonyKnight is getting. I installed the Mod (ver 1.8) then installed the patch. The install seemed to go fine except that one file you reference as NOT being a virus. My computer asked if I wanted to overwrite that and I chose yes. Does the fact that I am running Win98 and that file was created by WinME have anything to do with the problem?

I was able to duplicate you Cloaking error. You will need to download the full mod from http://astmod.com and then apply the 1.9.1 patch.
The AST mod uses custom modded AI's designed specifically to use the new technologies and racial traits of the mod. The mod also uses the Fyron Quadrant Mod Delux, 2.4 which employs the Planet Image Pack. Also the mod has new componets that also use the component image mod. I guess I could make a dry Version of the mod that would work with basic ship sets, but the race AI's would not use the new technology, only the generic AI's would. Hummmm, I think I will fiddle around with this. I am still need to make the mod 1.49 playable as well. |
