Fighters, Resupply and Carriers

I am not a big user of units (other then the occassional minefield). However in my present game I need as many ships possible forward while providing rear area security.

Question:
I am thinking of deploying lots of defensive fighters at a warp point (building them in system and flying them out). I am also planning to delpoy a few carriers at the warp point as supply platforms (probably with enough 5/1 fighters/bay ratio). I plan on guiving the carriers orders to remote launch fighters and then remote recover fighters.

Will the carriers cycle through a launch/recover process of all the various fighters at the WP (i.e. recover the ones that have been in space the longest) or will the carriers just launch and recover the same fighters every turn.

Re: Fighters, Resupply and Carriers

The fighters you launch will merge into a single stack with the ones already there.

IIRC, the new, bigger stack will get fully resupplied by the carrier as it launches the fighters.

If you don't mind having one giant stack of fighters, then the carrier will work out well... whenever the fighters run low, recover and launch to resupply all of 'em.

Otherwise, just have the fighters rotate back to the resupply depot in the system so you always have, say, 3 stacks at the WP for every stack going to refuel.
