Playing SE IV at the office
I would like to play multiplayer games with a few friends at noon.
What is the more eficient way/setting to gather game turns and to proceed the turn ? (each player playing his turn on his computer, of course). |
Re: Playing SE IV at the office
Shared drive or maybe ftp?

Re: Playing SE IV at the office
PBW, of course!
Assuming that the players' employers don't block that site. If so, you can still get turns emailed back and forth, though. ----- Oh, right. If you're all in the same building, a shared drive would work very well. Just get everyone to save their PLR files to that drive, and have one of the autohosting programs monitor it and process turns. [ July 03, 2003, 15:44: Message edited by: Suicide Junkie ] |

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif "autohosting programs" ? |
Re: Playing SE IV at the office
I have a LAN helper that's hardwired for 2 players and uses the numlock and scroll lock lights to show who has submitted their turns. Very nifty.
I'm sure there are others out there with more general programs written, though. |
Re: Playing SE IV at the office
can it be downloaded somewhere ?

Re: Playing SE IV at the office
How about TCP/IP mode?

Re: Playing SE IV at the office
how about hot seat? That way you can have a spot to eat lunch at and also cover each other while each of you play your turn...as wel as do some diplomacy

Re: Playing SE IV at the office
PVQ : That's a good question. does it work well ?
Rojero : Hotseat doesn't allow people to play their turn at the same time, so I think it's not a good solution. |
