AI Moving Fighters In-System
Someone asked me this on my Highliner thread, but I'm stumped as to a solution.
How do you get the AI to use Fighters in strategic combat? EDIT - I'm assuming this is other than from carriers... [ July 11, 2003, 19:14: Message edited by: General Woundwort ] |
Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
As far as I know, you can't.
Sometimes you see a few fighters on the map, but those are left over from a battle and they don't move. Rollo |
Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly: In strategic combat I see no problem for the AI with fighters but probably you mean that the AI moves fighters in the system without carriers.
That indeed I never saw the AI doing, not even to resupply the fighters. One more thing for the next patch! |

Well, that's that then. Not that I won't continue to tinker with my AIs to make them tougher... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |

i think this should be put to Newbie FAQ / Modding 101 or whatever

Re: AI Moving Fighters In-System
A single carrier full of fighters can decimate an entire system in a few turns if it would only launch them and send them out to different planets, but the AI keeps them in the carrier.
