Captain Kwok\'s Space Empires Depot!

Greetings!

I put together a little website this afternoon to act as my Online homebase for any projects I'll be doing in the future. It'll be dedicated to the Space Empires franchise and be updated on a regular basis. It's a little blank at the moment, but I promise more content before the next redesign. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Anyways, let me know what you think and feel free to suggest items that I could add to the site in the future.

You do realize that you are being given credit for your work on the Star Trek Mod? Without you the mod that is now in testing could not have been done.

Granted it is not what you had invisioned, but it is a great start to getting there.

Perhaps you could host the full Version once it is ready? Hopefully by August 1st the mod will be available for all to use and enjoy. You have invested so much time into the project to let it go to waste.

And Nice site, may I add it to my soon to becoming links page?

Kwok, your web site is clean, simple, uncluttered, well balanced and looks great. It's refreshing to see people put the 'K.I.S.S.' philosophy to good use.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Coffee shop talk? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

KISS is highly overrated.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I believe that would be an inside joke.

Atrocities:

I would host the mod, but I have a low transfer limit since it's webspace from my ISP. Perhaps in the future, I'll secure my own domain...

Why is KISS overated? Especially for web pages; it can speed download and loading time.

I hit Kwok's website, it loads frigging near instantly. I hit Fyron's web site and have to watch as it loads..then notice the actual content is squished into a much smaller square by the border, which has no links or anything funtional in it.

Re: Captain Kwok\'s Space Empires Depot!

The border is an insignificant portion of the screen unless you are loading the site in a small window or very low resolution (such as 640x480). KISS is actually not taking over for web sites, as they are already generally designed really simplistically (and have been for ever). There is nothing to take over. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Also, with the broadband resolution, more and more people are getting on fast internet connections and the extra load time is not that significant for them.

Also, the border only loads once when you first go to the site. If you stick around and spend more than ten seconds looking at it, that extra load time in the beginning is quite insignificant. Do you complain about the extra time you have to wait when starting up a computer game? I would certainly hope not. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
