Another SP game
 

Been a while since i played... just started out without min/maxing. TDM races. Medium bonus. By turn 19 i got hit by enemy destroyer with DUC4, PDC3, ECM1 and engine III. TURN 19! and the AI has at least four more. My god.

impressed, should play SP more.

Yeah, TDM Medium is a good place to be: usually winnable, but no easy time.

TDM Hard can be right out of my hands depending on certain accidents, incidents, and aspects or Astro-Geography.

Most people know some tricks to rapidly conquer the AI -- example, stay on their good side until you can get phased polaron beams, then ruin their ships before they get to phased shields.

That works so well, it feels like cheating. Even works on low bonus. I'm playing TDM medium bonus now, and they might have phased shields already by the time I get PPB.

I would try large bonus, but I would probably find it depressing.

They sure get the point defence early don't they. A couple of missile platforms usually provide some defence, now you need massed platforms to have a chance.

Arkcon, you do realize they'll get PPB WAY before you get it, and by the time you do, theyll have phased shields http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, suddenly AI exploits like PPB, mines around planets, and turtling don't seem to have enough bite to stop TDM on medium bonus.

So I did another evil thing. I gifted them all comm chanels. Now that they've all met, they're sure to declare war on each other, and want me for a friend. Right? Right?

Huh, what, the Krill have a military alliance with the Zynarra Holdings? Oh. Great.
