Re: creating a new, fictional oob

A problem with High AP ability and Small WH size is the penetration will not damage the armoured vehicle. In it's first incarnation the Type Kh MBT's railgun warhead had a WH size of 1, denoting...

Semi-OT but not really

Does anyone know of a website that has mp3s of French Foreign Legion songs? I could ask Pierre, Heinz and Rudi to sing them, but none of them can sing.

Baie Dankie,

Re: Why not jet AOPs?

Why not jet AOPs? Because you don't have the rank to call them in. The Mirages fly out of Onandagua and the photointerp is done there, or in Windhoek. By the time it gets to you, the pics are...

Re: Possible error in Rhodesia

After 1963 the SAS are called Codos and Paras. That was a design decision by SPCAMO. This is so SAS units can be both groundborne and airborne, as there is no paracommando class in the game. I...

Re: How do real life armies clear cities?

Something we don't have to do in the game, but armies have to do in reality, is consider the political implications of an action. If the city is an enemy city, and there's a war on (WW2 is an...

Re: Riflemen have too much ammo

I remember a discussion about this on the old Yahoo SPMBT forum. The non-infantrymen were amazed at the loads we muckfeet carried. The ammo loads for regular soldiers in the game seem correct to...

Re: Infantry firing from inside APCs

Koevoet used to do this all the time. They would drive up to the target, all mounted guns firing, music blaring on loudspeakers, R-4s firing over the sides of the Casspir or Wolf. The game engine is...

All right, I going to say it. Is there a chance of seeing South Africa in WinSPWW2. and do you want help in putting an SA orbat together?

My father fought in WW2, and I want to honour him. ...

Re: OT: Is there or Isn\'t there a Santa Claus

Two of them. There's Saint Nicholas, the one at the North Pole, and there's South Sun Santa, on Elf Island off the coast of South Africa.

There's a Virginia, and a North and South Carolina too!

Re: SPMBT and SPWaW

In both game engines 255 is the maximum value for anything. That means in SPWAW the maximum thickness of armour is 25.5 centimetres. Tanks exceeded that decades ago. In SPMBT the maximum thickness...

Re: Artillery ROFs question

To move the G-5 with the APU you have to make sure it's unloaded and lock it down. Then you have to make sure it's on level ground, unlock it and swing it round, and steady it before loading. All...

Re: Strangest examples of good or bad luck?

In SP2, it was the Nigerian MiGs attacking and destroying the Nigerian T-55s, therefore saving my Biafrans in the Calabar scenario.

My worst luck came in WinSPMBT, where the Canberras missed the...
