i always assume modding uses the same logic as forged items, since if you give a unit a new weapon it usually replaces the existing weapon etc.

there's also Mournful, they use Halberds and Turtle Shell Shields.

I look for any sort of correlation but I think it's either hardcoded or just a special rule.

if you go to your gem treasury there's a 'pool' button that moves that all of that type of gem from commanders to your treasury. naturally it only works in provinces with labs.

Just put them behind your troops with orders to Fire Closest. There's no danger of friendly fire, and they'll sit behind your line pummeling their line.

IIRC from the modding guide, BV's penetration scales with the BV value. I"m reasonably certain spell BV will stack with natural BV.

I'm curious how you protect against double protection assassins. I've been using that as Abyssia as well and it seems extraordinarily difficult to counter without a first turn kill on the assassin.

The Slingers actually can damage the salamanders, but between the other (sling-immune) Abysian infantry and the mages casting evocations, they arn't effective or fast enough tob e anything more than...

@Stavis - I did a few more trial runs and though I havent confirmed it explicitly the coastal placement seems to be the most likely reason. I'm running middle age games for now though, I'll check...

Yeah. I don't see a practical method beyond getting Fire on the pretender and hoping to get enougH Fire economy going to forestall a total loss to Salamanders. But I tried Eriu without the Earth...

Maybe mod existing items to be powerful gem generators, than stick immobile commanders with that item in those provinces, such that the tiem can be captured. Of course then people will just take it...
