Re: Suricate - pbem LA newbie game - (OPEN)

Well, this is going to be real rough against R'lyeh and Ermor, but I'll take Man since no one seems to want them. Unless they are already taken or no spots are left. In which case I'll just pout...

Re: MP guide to MA/LA R\'lyeh

I agree, and these are SP experiences from my side. However, using the scales/magic listed in the alternate strategy by Zath, along with taking an imprisoned pretender, but using your expansion...

Re: MP guide to MA/LA R\'lyeh

I have to say I tried things both ways (misfortune 2 and luck 3), and the misfortune wasn't as bad as I expected. However, I enjoyed the luck scale much more.

Re: New Team game, new(ish) players prefered

I'd be willing to play, but I'm not so sure about the random nations thing. I'm only decent with a handful of nations, and really hate playing some of the others.

Re: Possible bug - stuck Pangea recruitment

Yea, sorry. I checked for her, it was unrest. I did run a search for it, but since I was looking specifically for Pangea, nothing came up. I would have never guessed that she forgot to turn taxes...

Possible bug - stuck Pangea recruitment

My wife has been playing Pangea, and she has had the case several times now in which a unit that has been purchase in her capital will not build. She goes to end turn, everything seems fine, but when...

Re: Sort Nation Overview

I haven't found a way. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif But I would like to cast my vote for adding this feature.

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

I'd say that's probably accurate. I like a strong bless nation in general, and I like to be able to easily get the powerful units. Some nations seem to have powerful units available only if you...

Re: MP guide to MA/LA R\'lyeh

Just a thanks: I have played a combination of both strategies presented here, and I have to say I like LA R'lyeh. It's a very hard nation to get a good handle on, but this guide has helped immensely....

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

OK, played MA Marignon to about mid game, and I have to say I'm not real impressed. The Mage/Preists are pretty cool, but these guys are really one-trick ponies, and if you end up in a bad location...

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

Just finished MA Man, and I have to say, it was eye-opening. Longbowmen are great, crones suck. Wardens are absolutely one of the coolest units I've seen yet. I rean through Jotunheim with an army of...

Re: Really annoying spell scripting issue - Bug?

LOL. Somehow I think my longbowmen are likely to disagree!

Actually, I think I would prefer the crone casting it on herself. At least that way, I don't have to worry about her doing it again! ...

Re: Really annoying spell scripting issue - Bug?

Wow, thanks for the analysis! Once I get the hang of modding, I'll mod the spell fatigue. On the plus side, in later battles, she seems to be doing it properly. In fact, it appears that as long as we...

Re: Really annoying spell scripting issue - Bug?

I guess that makes some kind of warped sense, but is there any particular reason ToM is scored so high? I can't imagine a single situation in which that would be my first pick for a spell.

Re: Really annoying spell scripting issue - Bug?

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif That really, really sucks. I would just about rather mod it completely out of the game than have her cast it on my longbowmen. Really painful...

Really annoying spell scripting issue - Bug?

Playing MA man, I script my crone to case some specific spells (Wind Guide, Air Sheild, Howl, Song of Healing, Song of Bravery) and then have her "Stay behind army". I made sure she had all the...

Re: Recomended SP Victory Settings?

I would agree with Hadrian. I usually play until the end (cause I am OCD), but winning a game is incredibly anticlimactic (basically, a box that says "You win" and then POOF!, you are back at the...

Re: An arrow has suddely dropped from the sky and.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was hoping for something easier than a dome, as they are hitting me in a lot of different provinces, but I guess I will concentrate them in one or two and cast domes....

...struck <INSERT NAME OF 160 YR OLD CRONE HERE> in the heart!"

How do I stop the madness? I am losing a crone a turn to this, and 300 gold a turn isn't something I can afford to keep up.

Re: Eliminating a scorched earther=poor sportsmans

Eh, I don't like the tactics, but there are parallels in real life (Vlad the Impaler, for example). This is, technically, a war game. And I don't remember anyone coming up with a Geneva convention...

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

I'll give them a try as well, thanks. I haven't chosen water nations at this point as I have not played many water-heavy maps, but I will give them a try.

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

Yea, I tend to like armies consisting of small numbers of big troops, mostly because they rarely fall, so I don't have to worry about attrition. I'm playing MA man right now, and while I am enjoying...

Re: First Post: Suggestions on Nation choices?

Yea, I guess I had not considered the possibility of scripting for the specific battle you are facing. In SP I usually just "set it and forget it", as something like Divine Bless-cast-cast-cast-hold...
