One thing I did in my Last game was set one mine layer ship on each wp I wanted to defend, and one planet in the same system to repeat build mines.

Then I selected to load mines and remote launch...

Decoy missiles sound like a very good idea... but would have to take care not to make it too powerful, since you would always put the decoys on the ship first so they would always be targeted first...

I just did alittle testing with rather surprising results... I removed all but 1 of each atmosphere type for medium/rock planets in secttype.txt (leaving all other planets intact)... now if type/size...

hmm... yes I didn't actually consider that... It does make more sense if it selects type at random and then finds a matching planet in secttype.txt... but if that is true then none atmosphere planets...

Also when looking through the files I saw something called a "Stellar Balancer" ... I haven't encountered this in a game yet, is it deactivated or have I just not played enough SE4 yet ...

I don't think I will do anything game-changing when it comes to asteroids.

The possibility to add different abilities to stellar abilities are interesting though, but it will take a lot of testing...
