just got the Gold in the mail... installed it and added the 1.94(?) patch (latest one I could find, whatever the number)... I then found the 'extras' section of the CD... I DL'd & installed the...

UM- nope, that doesn't work either - if I mod the racial trait file to add a new Pirate race and then restart the game, click on new game and try to add an existing empire, I get the error I...

yep - that's what a human would do, but the AI, if it has attack ships will attack - if it is non attack ships (colony, minelayers, etc) they'll run away.

Try building it on their side of the warp...

Nit - have you tried this new racial trait in the game yet?

I put that info in the racial trait file then designated the new Pirate Tech as a racial area of 6 (the next one available I assumed)......

space stations have access to bigger mounts for their weapons than ships. Also does a crapload more damage... be carefull when attacking em

and a hint I learned the hard way when designing em......

I believe if you have 1 ship/base/sat in a system w/a sensor of appropriate level that is able to detect the cloaking level of the enemy ship, the enemy is viewable to all your forces.
