Newbie Q\'s. Please help

I am playing 2 games at the same time. I go from Abyssia to Jotun and have played 25 or so turns in each. I have yet to have a single good or bad event. I saw the list in the FAQ and some are damn...

Game freezes during battle

The game freezes and I cannot get out of it. I see my troops and that is it. I cannot do anything and they do not move.

What is happening.

Are there any commands/shortcuts/filters for battle??

But assuming I m using one of the default maps I do not need the file do I?

I assume the map file does not change during the game.

What files do I need for a game??

I am playing on a desktop but will be on the road for a week and would like to take whatever files I need and put them on my work laptop.

Exactly which file(s) are needed?

Help exchanging gems!

I started a new game and in the lab my pretender is not an option to take any gems?

How do I give them to him. He is in the province.
