Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 8

Enemy artillery and my units firing at scouts accounted for most of the activity up north. The lone exception was an AT team fired at a distant Zeus moving on a hill without effect. It's...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 7

More Russian artillery up north against the tree line, but most of my units are out of the way. Some caught hits from rounds off target, but no casualties. A little bit of small arms fire...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 6

Things slowed down up north. Mostly artillery from both sides, but my forces opened with a little bit of small arms fire. Spotted one BMP-2 just south of the position, east of the stream....

Re: Fog of war

Always a risk with artillery unless you are plotting against an immobile or pinned down target. The way I view it, if the arty has nothing better to do, it might as well be plotted against...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 5

After losing another five BMP-2s and one more BRDM-2 up north, the enemy attack is losing steam. Some infantry units are still alive, but if they are going to capture any objectives, they...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 4

Additional enemy units approaching the northern holding line. Things are getting hot there very quickly. I engaged the enemy with a few AT teams, destroying a couple BRDM-2s and one...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 3

Enemy force in company strength approaching northern holding force. One enemy BRDM-2 destroyed. Five more west of the stream. Two more BRDM-2s and seven BMP-2s on the east side. ...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 2

Five enemy BRDM-2s spotted just east of the stream up north. My holding force is just starting to get into position there. I'm going to move my two gunships up to support in case it is...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 1

A little more Russian artillery, but anything that was close to the impact zones already bugged out. That includes my armor reserve. Seems crossing the LD was safer for them than staying...

Re: DAR: Moscow Region

Turn 0 (Prep Fire)

Lots of Russian prep fire, but didn't hit anything. It was spooky when the rockets with cluster munition started landing around my tank reserve and artillery positions.

Re: Fog of war

You are correct in the fact that the "right click" gives you the full payload for that unit, but doesn't give you an up to date tally of what it has left during a battle. The problem is, it does...

Re: Fog of war

Whenever you play against someone, just make sure all the ground rules are set up first. If it is a personal concern, bring it up and agree on it. Items/options not mentioned can be construed as...

Yup. Life has been frantic and I disappeared into the "fog of war", for a while. :D

Re: Fog of war

I figure I'll throw in my 2 cents.

There are some aspects of the "right click" that provide information that we shouldn't know. Ammo payload is one. There are many units that have specialized...

Re: River Crossings for Dummies..help pls

Once you run out of smoke, constantly bombarding with HE will also obscure vision. Catching a few trees on fire will also add to the smoke. This is hit and miss, however as trees don't always...

Re: Unsupported tanks behind enemy lines

Once the surprise has been sprung, moving is probably a good idea unless the unit is actively engaged. The steel rain won't be too far off in the future. You just don't want it loaded when the arty...

Re: Missing Area SAMs

The are actually there, but "invisible". You can select them from the HQ list and place them. If you need to move them, you just have to click on the "empty" hex where they are and you will see you...

Re: Wasting High Explosive Anti Tank Rounds

You would have to clearly define what those conditions would be in such a way that would be programmable, applicable to all time periods covered by MBT, acceptable to others impacted by the change,...

Re: Wasting High Explosive Anti Tank Rounds

It sounds like you are saying you want to be able to filter weapons independently, say to engage soft targets with a machine gun, but nothing more than that, correct? Something along the lines of...

Re: Wasting High Explosive Anti Tank Rounds

Maybe I'm missing something here, but doesn't the filter allow you to handle most of this? I know it doesn't allow you to choose whether to use HE or HEAT rounds, but it's already been said that the...

Re: I hate my computer

Until you get a new computer, do you have some way you can get more airflow around the laptop? Maybe a small house fan that will help further diffuse the heat around it. Just set it up to blow on...

Re: Unsupported tanks behind enemy lines

Not a bad idea. What organization do you normaly have when you hit the rear area? For example, your set up your forces: recon up front, tanks and infantry main body, mobile reserve in rearish area of...

Re: Unsupported tanks behind enemy lines

Just for sake of clarity, I typically don't raid into the enemy rear area. I move my whole core into their rear. Support units punch a hole and core elements exploit the gap, leaving nothing in my...
