"Latest drivers" - that would be the Win9x/Me version of Detonator 81.98. Use those, there should be no problem running Dom3.

You must differentiate between ritual, combat spells and "self-cast" spells:

Ain't a bug:
Twiceborn only works in combat, not for drowning, not for disease and all the other ways to get the mages state from "living" to "dead". Should be mentioned in the manual or the in-game...

If a Machakan spider rider dies, you'll get a big spider unit instead. If it was a commander, the spider will be a commander, too. That happens...
