Would giving armor to off board artillery have any effect?
I am thinking about off board SPA artillery vs counterbattery fire here. Also is the size parameter a factor in off board counterbattery?

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

I would wait before having the team spending time and effort on a program which has the guillotine hanging upon it while there is so much else to fix. Until units are actually issued with them I...

Re: Seeking info on .50 cal SLAP ammo

Then why were appliquè kits for the side armor issued in Afghanistan? It was vulnerable to HMG fire on the sides, that's why. Remember that it was supposed to float as well so trade offs in the armor...

Re: Body Armour

Sort of. They could be used to supplement tanks and regular infantry in a Fallujah style scenario I guess.
A limited number might be useful as an intimidation "don't mess with us" factor even in...

Re: Body Armour

Not so fast. For a start developing these unarmored exoskeletons into powered armor will still take some time, probably several years. Then even once that happens you will not be able to turn...

Re: Chemical Weapons

I think that in the latter case one could modify the various "searching", "rout/rally" options to simulate that.

Re: WinSPMBTv4 Upgrade

Actually it is not a B1 equivalent as far role is concerned. The TU-160 in its basic configuration is a dedicated strategic missile carrier. It cannot carry bombs, only Kh-55 and Kh-15 missiles (and...

Re: Iraq Map

Here is a small map (20 x 30) representing a slice of iraqi countryside. It has been created using google earth.
It contains palm groves, scattered buildings, secondary roads etc. It should be good...

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

I haven't studied the problem in detail but, from some WW1 sources I have read, it would appear that more often than not artillery would simply kick it around without opening a breach in it.

Re: Body Armour

On a purely anedocte basis it seems that you can get shot at with an AK-47 and if the bullet hits the hard plates you can get away with minor bruises and be still combat effective, but this of course...

Re: Body Armour

As far as I know Interceptor has been a standard issue in Iraq for quite some time. There were shortage issues in the early years of the war, just like it happened for armored cars but eventually...

I am sure this was the case until a few years ago. But with modern composite plates resistance against against military rifles round has been achieved. Interceptor with the ceramic plates can stop...

Re: Body Armour

If you want you can adjust a bit the infantry toughness values in the game options menu.
I would guesss there might be a percentage of cases where body armor might turn an incapacitating wound...

Re: Iraq errors report

Game wise I think that weapon n.158 in the iraqi OOB would be a good fit. That would also avoid using up another weapon slot.

EDIT
In reality what type of ammunition has been purchased so far...

Re: Iraq errors report

The new iraqi army has been using T-72 since the end of 2005. Judging from the pictures they appear to be T-72M/M1 variants (mostly T-72M).Hungary was the supplier.
