Re: WW2 German Mod

Read one story one time, when they decided to use the Me 262 as afigther, and not as a figtherbomber. Some early sucsess, and then they were grounded for lack of fuel, and their runways got bombed at...

Re: Sp Wwi - Wtf ?

Budweiser is the reason many people think that American beer is like making love in a canoe.

Personally I think Spitfire is a beer more fit for SPWW2.

Re: Capturing Enemy Kit for Core

Some nations (like Germany and Nat. Chinese) have units with captured equipment in their OOBs, so on could by such units, to simulate "capture".

Re: Curved Mantlets. How are they calculated.

I think that what you add is determined by the angular functions (sine and cosine), and there migth also be some factor from steel-quality.

Re: Blood idea

The designers of the SP games were Gary Grigsby and Keith Brors, working for SSI. They gave Don and Andy the code (I think), to mod as they saw fit, so long as they didn't make any money of it. So...

Re: And now ? (WinSP dreams)

I have XP, and run Age of Rifles. Had to do a bit of hacking to make it work, but noting advanced. However, I think the SP-series could be pressed back to 1900, but not much further. Earlier...

Re: And now ? (WinSP dreams)

The game "Age of Rifles" covers the period 1840-1914 quite well, so I don't think a SP is needed. The SP-series don't have formations like line and column, wich you need for pre-WW1 stuff.

OOB compatibility.

Hi.
First I would like to say thank you, for winSPWW2.

Are SPWW2v7 OOBs compatible with winSPWW2v1 OOBs? I have tried with a couple of OOBs, and they seemed to work. I have some custom OOBs from...

Re: German Biased?

Also, one shall remember that the Germans lost. It seems to me that the loosing side often are popular with wargamers, wanting to prove themselves. Atleast when it was a close figth.

Neat.
Have you made a Thermopylae map? Would be nice for a Greek defend vs. Persian attack.

Re: Battle-location bug?

It doesn't just happen against the Mujahedeen. Also got the same result against Indonesia and Vietnam.

Battle-location bug?

I discovered the following bug: I tried to start a battle of Norway advances vs. Mujahedeen delay, Feb. 2006. I only got snow-covered "Norway(bat. loc. 7)" maps, even if the computer clameded...

Hi.
This was mentioned when I was in the Norwegian Air Force. My impression was that this was oversized Claymore-mines, that pointed upwards. From my understanding, they had to be fiered manually....

Re: Scenario designers- how much research do you d

If you want to make a historical scenario, you need some decent history-books, reports or such. I have not made any real SPMBT scenarios, just "fooling-around" scenarios to see how the games handles...

Re: Question: Who are the Bad Guys?

I don't think it realy is any need for good-guys vs. bad-guys. After all, most players are intrested in a good game.

Also the side one plays, does not reflect wich side one thinks is good. Many...

Re: Entebbe is Ready. - Get it now!

Played trough the Entebbe scenario. It is one of the best SP2/SPMBT/winSPMBT I have played. Did a little worse than the real Israelis. Lost no hostages, but only killed about half of the terrorist...

Re: Coments on Norwegian OOB.

I will try finding a photo. It will most likely be ordinary home guards. The SF-stuff is classified, but they use the same uniforms. As do the regular army.

Coments on Norwegian OOB.

Hi.
The picture for unit 451, Home guard SF, actually shows Royal Guards in Field Uniforms (the cap is the give-away). Royal Guardsmen in Norway would be most annoyed by beeing called Home guard, SF...
