I don't believe you can restrict a space yard component in that way. It's either there or not, you can't make it depend on if something else is accompanying it. At least I can't think of a way to do...

At least, the higher level detectors should be able to see the lower level mine designs, maybe two levels down for example. That way, a level 4 scanner could see level 2 mines etc. But in the end,...

The 'System' abilities seem to work on ships but not sector ones. At least for the planetary ones. But making anything with a ship that affects the entire system seems too powerful. Unless you reduce...

Here it is:

9. Fixed - Planets that are hidden by storms or nebulae were still being drawn on the system map.

This fix just might make the planet image disappear with also.

Hmm, the thing about the two races to need to attack, that's pretty good. I didn't think about trying that.
I'm also waiting for the new patch because I thought I saw a fix that might affect this...

It seems that there are certain abilities that work on planets but have to be in facilities in order to function. So an atmosphere changing ship cannot be made, unfortunately.

Looks like you can make a terrafrom ship. It would be planet specific also.
Just make a ship component using the ability line 'Planet - Change Atmospere'
Put in whatever amount of turns you think...

On the engine minefield thing, it's true that it only takes one ship to set off all the mines. But if there is a fleet, all the ships get hit.

I thought that would make the mines loose their...

Just make a small galaxy, pick the Eee, cause they see the whole map, and max out AI players. Pick cheats on along with max technology. Then after you start, just turn all the AI's into human players...

Me too, my machine is slow as crap. Especially when playing with max AI's and 200+ systems. What you have to do is find a good book between turns.

What I do is just throw a few mines in orbit above my planets. That way even if a treaty gets broken and I get attacked unexpectedly, their ships just blow up on my minefields. I find it more...

You failed to say exactly how you altered the files to get the AI to build those base space yards.
Seems like a good idea, cause I noticed that every AI race has tons and tons of extra resources...
