Re: Reorder Units...

I never noticed that. Then again I've only been playing the game for one decade.

Re: B1-B Lancer and B2 Spirit JDAMs

I guess there are a lot of other things that could be added, like HEMTTs, obscure logistics units, the TAM110, and the M93 Fox. But yeah, the current unit list pretty much covers those.

Re: Formations as reinforcements

My solution would be to have the formation arrive in one hex and have a 0 man ammo dump randomly arrive on the same turn to kill them all. The point value of the ammo dump cancels the point value of...

ATACMs MLRS are in the game and they're basically a cruise missile.

Re: Load/unload insanity

My uneducated opinion is that this is the SPMBT equivalent of a pathfinding traffic jam in real time strategy games. I don't know if my save will replicate the problem on your machine. I'm running CD...

I find that in scenarios with lots of APCs bottlenecked into a small area, they tend to stop, unload, and reload their infantry repeatedly. This goes on for the entire game. Here's my save, play as...

Re: Trees in the desert

Makes sense, water flows downhill.

Either that or there should be no trees at all in the middle of the desert.

Re: Attack Helos

From video games like Team Apache/Janes/Microprose it seems like the Apache has multiple burst selections. The default is 10 rounds per burst but goes up to 100. Ten seems to work fine. I'm no pilot...

Re: Help please: Rebuild Points are Negative

I'm not sure what to do, you'll have to wait for Don and Andy. Thanks for informing them of the bug.

Re: Help please: Rebuild Points are Negative

Sorry, I don't see a screenshot. Attaching your save files and system information would also help.

Re: Spoiled brat wish: Airports

I also wanted to compliment you guys on the helo AI. Unarmed AI transport helos now tend to withdraw offmap rather than hang around after dropping off their troops. Just another one of the little...

Spoiled brat wish: Airports

Hey Don and Andy,

I know this is a lot to ask but I thought it would be cool if the random map generator occasionally created an airport or small airstrip. I thought it would add variety to...

Re: Showdown: America Series

It was a fairly tough scenario for me, at least. The APCs really cost me, would have preferred M-113s but it was nice to try out the Argentinian equipment.

Re: Second try...sorry

In the map editor you can set a hex height to whatever you want. Combine that with a tramway or something that looks like a wall and you're good to go.

Re: Showdown: America Series

Been playing the Argentina beach landing scenario and I'm on turn 16. Not bad. There's a great number of units and a huge map size but the enemy is getting massacred sitting in trucks. Their foot...

Re: Battle lengths: MBT versus real life

Good example. Coordination would probably be especially hard at night and with poor radios. Unless you were just doing a frontal charge.

Re: New Scenario - Konna January 2013

Usually the highly accurate historical scenarios in some of these games are based on unclassified records and AARs published well after the war is over. Since those aren't available on short notice...

Re: Battle lengths: MBT versus real life

You'd probably have to fundamentally change the game mechanics to simulate that. WinSPMBT is like a highly coordinated specops operation on company/battalion scale.

SPIII sort of attempted to...

Re: The Red OOB T-55M

Pretty impressive Mobhack. Just finding the tank was sheer luck.

They say you can throw in AK in a swamp and it'll still work. Probably same for a MiG.

......and the tread topic is the Red OOB's T-55 so where does the T-34 fit in ?
The T-34 never dies, they just make variants.

Re: New Scenario - Konna January 2013

That IED hurt! I was also too aggressive with my helos and lost one. Shouldn't have flown them around at high altitude.

The mujahideen counterattack pretty fast. By turn 12 they were already...

Re: The Red OOB T-55M

I'ts not too much of a stretch to say that this isn't far from Saddam Hussein's general attitude before the 1st and 2nd Gulf war......
Hey, the T-34 was a good tank.
