Re: LA Caelum

LA Caelum is a really cool nation imo.
You've got death, earth and air. Their path's would be theoretically good for thugs, but they lack the power to survive melee.
Their is however a trick ......

Re: Why convert the starting scout to a prophet in turn 1

Did you try this?
I did, even backed up by stealthy priests and normal domspread, no way.
A h3 priest has a 90% chance - 5 * enemy domstrength, so against a dom 6 (which is already on the lower...

Re: Noobs & Vets: Rise of the AI Menace. EA, BI, Nation Selection Underway.

Well, I can be an alternate.
I can't play before the 7th though.

Re: New Nation: The Monestary of the Way

Research is big problem with cap only mages, regardless how strong they are.
I would make the mages recruitable at every fort and the grandmasters so good that you want to use your capital spot for...

Re: Vengeance of Dead and globals

No. Same for all ritual spells (seeking arrows etc).

edit: Well, as long as the kills in the HoF count.

Re: Brain storm HoF improvments, RP elements, ladder etc

How about a completely different idea, somewhat along the lines of John Milton (Better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven).
When players are faced with being defeated they get the choice to...

Re: Noob LA Game: Cataclysm - And Begin!

Executor has offered to sub in.
Would be cool if you could get his email set in time for the new turn.

Good luck to all the other players.
It was a good game, but they are checking my...

Re: Noob LA Game: Cataclysm - And Begin!

Yes, I have. :(
I have only 10 to generate some extra money, though. :)

LA R'lyeh needs a sub in Cataclysm

Well, I'm looking to get the game off my hands.

It's late game, you have all the research done (except blood). You have enough gems/mages to do whatever you want. Since there a gem gens in there...

Re: Noob LA Game: Cataclysm - And Begin!

Well, since there are so many players who don't like when someone throws the towel I'll try to line up a sub.

Re: Which Nations Are Best for Turtling?

@K

Well, your points are valid, however mostly so when you already have an advantage.
If you are making SCs only your enemy can make more this doesn't help you much. Same for research, only when...

Re: NEWB Questions

A few small tricks (and I think you can safely expand with 7 jaguars and smaller bless if you use them):
Placement/Shock - indies will always behave the same. So you can set up your force so that it...

Re: Which Nations Are Best for Turtling?

Well, somehow along AoE's lines (if I understand him correctly) - turtling to invest in defense is not what you want to do.
You want to invest as much as you can into thing's with a return...

Re: Agartha, Pale ones - a study in darkness (CBM)

Hmm, yeah, I'm always sceptic about guides that rely on specific gems since I've had both good luck and bad luck. Still, death gems seem to be the most reliable and you don't need that much.
I'd be...

Re: Template for reducing late game MM hell

Well ... the big problem with renaming is that the enemy can see your names sometimes. Might just be the little extra intel your enemy needs when arming against your SC.
And might just be the thing...

Re: Which Nations Are Best for Turtling?

Why should LA R'lyeh be the best turtling nation?
Arguably you are the nation with the best defense in LA, but every turn you don't expand, you get poorer. Yes, you can research but sooner or later...

Re: A Discussion on kingmaking and community standards.

Re: Noob LA Game: Cataclysm - And Begin!

Well, as the never dying advocate of gem gens I have to say that they are really not a micro problem for me - only that I'm forced to make as many as I can sucks hard.
The one battle against your...

Re: Site Searching: statistical test / modding logistics

Hmm, let's suppose you started the game via --comptrn and some AIs (you can watch the AI) and mod all spells out except Acashic, which you make free.
Make the game host automatically for 100 turns...

Re: Noob LA Game: Cataclysm - And Begin!

Well, it's not that the grand picture is not very interesting in this game, it's very tense. I don't think I don't have a reasonable chance of winning, might be might be not, although I will have...

Re: A Discussion on kingmaking and community standards.

What I don't get is why you would include revenge as acceptable reason.
The only thing that you are going to get in that game is some emotional gratification, but then why not just be plain and say...
