I believe is used to just describe your empire to other human players, not real advantage or disadvantage. Happiness type, on the other hand, does affect game play.

If you have SE III, the help file discusses the score calculation. I don't know if it is the same, but I suspect that it is farily close to SE IV.

I just ran a simulation and set up a protectorate treaty between two empires. The weaker empire does, indeed, lose their points. That is reflected in the "resource expenses per turn" under "Empire...

The starting RP's is a good idea, but I think it would have to be a heckuva lot in order to simulate 50, 75, even 100 starting tech levels. When playing the game at work (not that anyone does that)...

I take Kilo Tons to mean 1000 tons (US). Then again, it's just a unit of measure for the game.

The into to the text file seems to indicate that the larger the number, the more angy the empire gets.... I would assume the more negative, the less angry.

I thought the path.txt file already pointed to a directory, ....data. I have been adding directories for different mod experiments and adjusting the path.txt file as necessary. Did I misunderstand?...

SEIV is a better game, in my opinion. SEIII had a couple advantages in starting tech levels and construction qeues, but the changes made in SEIV far outweight them.

The monolith facilities don't create anything, they just mine all three resources at once. They take a while to build, but are useful for domed colonies with limited space.
