Do racial Culture Types that are supposed to give space combat bonuses (Berzerkers, Warriors, etc.) actually do this?

The only Cultural Trait modifiers for these Cultures that show up on the race info screens in-game are the negative ones and the bonus for Ground Combat. I tried making some ships with a Berzerker race and used them in the simulator, and none of the ships had any combat bonuses listed under the Abilities tab either. I'm just wondering if space combat cultural bonuses actually work. Anyone?
