Graphics needed!
Ok, all you graphic artists out there! We've got a framework that can be extended to do some great things, but we probably need a coordinated effort just as in the "mods" department. If some people could imitate the ship styles in the 20 races that come with the game well enough to produce believable BASESHIP images we could get past the silly convention of using a starbase to represent a base ship, for example. But I doubt that ONE person, even if a good graphic artist, could produce all 20 of them. We could also use more component pictures to allow all these nifty component types that all the modders want to make without duplication of images. It would be FAR more productive to combine the efforts of many people into a "standard" expanded component (and for that matter facility) image group than to have a bunch of seperately altered graphics sets floating around. How many people reading this BB are reasonably good with 3D graphics and working on anything right now?
