Yes, I've looked at the unused components many times. And used LOTS of them in my personal mod!
But there are still not enough weapon images to handle all of the ideas for unique weapon types that have been pouring out here and elsewhere. If people with some ability in graphics design were to create a few more and make an "image upgrade" mod for the game that would be as useful as the text file mods we're currently seeing.
